Course Overview
With continuing reductions in public funding, post-Covid changes and an increasingly insecure world, the challenges for Boards of cultural organisations are greater than they have ever been. It is essential that Board members are properly equipped to fulfill their role in setting a strategic overview, helping to develop sustainable business models and giving full support to senior staff. The day will address the following questions and outline current best practice in cultural governance.
How do volunteer Board members fulfill their duty of overseeing complex organisations?
What is the role of the Board in artistic planning and risk?
How do Boards ensure that they are properly diverse?
What is the role of the Board in income generation?
